Observation Narrative
The habitat of this plot is a hummocky stream headwaters with braided seeps and small channels. Dominant Betula allegheniensis canopy trees are quite young and densely stocked. Rhododendron maximum-dominated shrub layer is patchy, with dense herbaceous cover in the openings.
Plot located in stream bottom / seepage area along a small tributary of Big Wilson Creek, just west of the Appalachian Trail at a point just north of the Forest Service / Grayson Highlands State Park boundary.
